Position Overview: We seek a dynamic Outside Sales Associate to sell water meters and smart water solutions to municipal and commercial clients across North and South Dakota, and Western Minnesota. This field-based role supports utility customers with monitoring and reporting water systems. Candidates must reside within the territory. The role includes a fuel card, auto allowance, travel and expense card, company cell phone, and laptop.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and customers, ensuring satisfaction from order to delivery and beyond.
  2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base, working with management on sales strategies.
  3. Perform duties such as product quotations and problem resolution.
  4. Analyze competitors, devise sales strategies, and communicate them to management.
  5. Continuously improve sales skills and product knowledge to maintain a professional image.
  6. Document all sales activities in our CRM system (Salesforce) for pipeline management and sales tracking.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of industry-related sales experience preferred.
  • Strong technical background, preferably in water and/or wastewater industry.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, capable of building relationships and working in a team.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving, leadership, and listening skills.
  • Digital literacy and ability to multi-task and learn quickly.

This role offers a base salary plus commission, with an estimated total compensation of $120,000 - $170,000 annually.
