Job summary

Ryerson, a leading provider of industrial metal products and services, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Vernon, CA. You will collaborate with Inside and Regional Sales teams to develop precise quotes and contract proposals, addressing customer needs and driving profitable sales.

The role requires a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), 3+ years in metals or industrial sales, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to travel in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 3+ years of experience in metals or similar manufacturing/industrial sales preferred.
• Prior experience working directly with inside sales team members is a plus.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Possess creative and complex thinking skills to best resolve customer's wants and needs.
• Must be able to travel and work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Quickly builds strong relationships with contacts at all levels across customer organizations, especially with purchasing decision-makers.
• Keeps customers informed about industry and economic trends and Ryerson’s ability to assist customers in adapting to change.
• Understands and keeps up-to-date on the competitive environment and provides market intelligence to sales management to help shape service center sales strategies, price levels and working capital decisions.
• Increases revenue from assigned customers by increasing product lines or items sold and converting general line sales to fabrication sales.
• Involves service center management, regional management, Global Accounts, or other corporate management, and Ryerson supplier representatives in establishing and maintaining relationships at all levels of customer organization.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 annually plus additional sales incentives. A starting salary higher than $75,000 is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
