Job summary

Mid-Cape Home Centers seeks an Outside Sales Representative to generate and secure new sales while maintaining current accounts across Massachusetts' South Shore, Cape Cod and the Islands. You’ll drive growth through cold calls and lead follow-up, with pay potential ranging from base plus commission to guaranteed commission.

Responsibilities include presenting products, preparing quotations, coordinating delivery, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Travel to customer sites is required up to 50%.

Qualifications

• 3 years of sales experience in building materials or related industry required.
• Ability to negotiate prices and contractual agreements.
• Experience with blueprints estimation and material takeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Promote, sell, and secure new accounts for the company.
• Provide existing accounts with necessary products, time, and information.
• Assist with the selection of products best suited to customer needs.
• Prepare, coordinate, and communicate price quotations, terms of sales, delivery dates, and service obligations to customers/contractors.
• Resolve customer complaints and problems.
• Assist in the collection of accounts receivable.
• Coordinate project schedules, contractor schedules, and material deliveries.
• Prepare and input orders as necessary.
• Inform company of competitive prices, products, and area-related information.
• Maintain knowledge of daily and monthly sales relative to budget and margin goals.
• Research and order special products as necessary.
• Adhere to conflicts of interest or non-compete agreements if in place.

Mid-Cape Home Centers traces its roots back to 1895, and today supplies professional builders, remodelers and homeowners in Massachusetts' South Shore, Cape Cod and the Islands with lumber and specialty building materials from its six locations in the southern coastal region of Massachusetts.

A Brief Overview

The Outside Sales Representative generates and secures new sales to increase the profitability of the company. This position maintains existing accounts while generating new business through cold calls and following leads.

Pay potential of $65K - $150K annually +, which can be comprised of base + commission, commission only, draw commission, or guaranteed commission. Additionally, you could be eligible to receive a car allowance, gas card, or mileage reimbursement.

What you will do

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience Qualifications

• 3 years of sales experience in building materials or related industry required.

• Working knowledge of building materials industry and products, ability to negotiate prices and contractual agreements.
• Estimating from blueprints, ability to use calculator and computer.
