Job summary

Turtle in Riverhead, NY is seeking an Outside Sales Associate to drive growth and strengthen existing accounts. You will sell, market and demonstrate products while expanding the customer base and pursuing new business opportunities.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills, plus at least 3 years in electrical distribution sales. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in one of: Industrial, OEM, Automation, Lighting, Power Distribution, Commodities, Energy.
• Minimum 3 years of electrical distribution sales experience.

Title: Outside Sales Associate

Compensation: Salary Plus Uncapped Commission

About the Role

The Outside Sales Associate will exhibit a positive, friendly and helpful attitude with customers, have the ability to manage and grow existing accounts, and pursue new business accounts.

What You'll Do

• Selling, marketing, promoting, and demonstrating products.
• Increasing business by generating sales to new customers and by selling additional products to existing customers.
• Pursuing product applications by utilizing personal knowledge, internal specialist/resources, vendor representatives and other available sources.
• Establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
• Learning and evaluating customer operations to aid in identifying customer objectives, requirements, and preferences.
• Processing product quotations in conjunction with inside sales counterparts and providing continuous follow up throughout the completion of the customer’s purchasing cycle.
• Ability to respond to a variety of challenging circumstances while continuing to demonstrate superior selling skills for important customer services and applications.
• Use industrial & electrical product knowledge to better communicate with customers.
• Use negotiating skills while understanding and using sales techniques needed to close orders.
• Prepare sales proposals that meet customer expectations.
• Make customer presentations.
