Outside Sales Account Manager - Public Sector - Atlanta, GA (West)

  • 3+ years of business-to-business sales experience.

Job Summary

Drive profitable sales growth by prospecting new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and expanding opportunities with current customers in core and emerging industries and markets to meet yearly sales goals. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle, with such operation done consistently more than 20% of the work week. An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report is required, and will be checked if selected.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain strong sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers across all levels of an organization, ensuring long-term sustainability.
  • Manage sales volume with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new customers to diversify the customer base.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand business presence in the assigned area.
  • Share market insights and competitor information with relevant channels throughout the organization, fostering strong relationships and collaborative partnerships.
  • Collaborate with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs, providing valuable input for the development of effective sales strategies.
  • Attend monthly business meetings for company-sponsored associations, engage in local trade shows, and represent the organization in regional or national activities as necessary.

Nature and Scope

  • Demonstrate skill in data analysis by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies in complex research/data.
  • Work independently with guidance only on unusual or complex problems. Work is typically reviewed periodically by a supervisor or customers.
  • May provide guidance or training to junior support or professional personnel.
  • Work is performed in a comfortable indoor environment; infrequent unpleasant conditions are not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting, with frequent opportunities to move about. Rarely, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Overnight travel is typically less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline with 2-5 years of experience, or an MS/MA with 2-4 years of experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
