Zusammenfassung

Astreya is seeking an experienced OSP fiber operations engineer to interpret designs, plan splices, and support field crews during turn-ups and migrations. You will lead troubleshooting with OTDR, assess loss budgets, and ensure accurate records in GIS and splice databases.

The role requires deep familiarity with OSP designs and field conditions, plus strong mentoring skills to uplift the team. This is an on-site Denver position with a robust benefits package.

Qualifikationen

  • 7+ years in OSP fiber ops or OSP engineering within data center or telecom infrastructure environments
  • OSP engineering background and ability to read, interpret, and validate OSP designs, splice matrices, and construction drawings at a senior level
  • Hands‑on splicing experience (fusion, mechanical) and strong knowledge of fiber cable types, splice closures, patch panels, and cross‑connect fields
  • Demonstrated ownership of splice matrices, cut sheets, and cut plans in live, in‑service environments
  • Advanced OTDR analysis including bidirectional traces, event classification, loss budgets, and fault localization
  • Fluency with GIS and fiber management platforms

Aufgaben

  • Design Review & Cut Planning: Interpret OSP designs for buildability and execution risk; prepare and sign off on splice matrices, cut sheets, and cut plans for in-service options.
  • Execution & Field Support: Serve as the operations point of contact for field splicing and installation crews during turn-ups and migrations; adapt as conditions change.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Validate field test results (OTDR, OLTS, VFL) and lead troubleshooting during turn-up using bidirectional OTDR analysis and loss budgets.
  • Case Audits & Records Integrity: Review audit sheets, reconcile with splice matrices and GIS, and maintain as-builts and system records.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with design engineering, splicing vendors, network engineering, and operations to deliver clean turn-ups and report progress.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, author MOPs/SOPs, and drive standards and process improvements.

  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Validate field test results (OTDR, OLTS, VFL, inspection) and lead troubleshooting during turn-up using bidirectional OTDR analysis, loss budget validation, and fault localization.
  • Case Audits & Records Integrity: Review case audit sheets, reconcile findings against splice matrices, path records, and GIS, and drive remediation. Keep as-builts, splice documentation, and system-of-record entries accurate.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with design engineering, construction, splicing vendors, network engineering, and operations to deliver clean turn-ups across all programs and report out to project stakeholders on project status and completion.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior operations engineers, author MOPs, SOPs, and job aids, and drive standards and process improvement across the team.
