Job summary

NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company is seeking an OSP Construction Supervisor to direct crews in underground and overhead telecom work across Macon, Albany, Columbus. This role focuses on safety, quality, and production while meeting contract requirements.

The candidate will manage a 10-12 inspectors team, coordinate with sub-contractors and clients, and report daily on progress. 95% of work is outdoors, with field-based supervision from home or a vehicle.

Qualifications

• 5 years of direct supervisory management experience leading Wireline Outside Plant Construction Teams.
• 5 years of experience with Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Wireline Outside Plant Construction experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency at placing Fiber Cable in the Right of Way (ROW).
• Demonstrated track record of building successful teams, effectively motivating people and maintaining effective relationships with clients, owners, and team members.
• Self-Motivated with Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other tools / applications as needed.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills.
• Enjoys managing a workforce daily (safety, quality, and production).
• Ability to think critically, anticipate opportunities for improvement, and forward thinking.

Responsibilities

• Drive daily operational production.
• Responsible for ensuring all subordinate organizations provide quality work on time and on budget.
• Responsible for cross functional coordination to ensure build / schedule align with customer priorities.
• Management of key performance metrics (KPI’s - Build production, Overage Job Management, Market Productivity, etc.).
• Maintain Daily Production Sheets / Reporting and ensure company databases are kept current and accurate with daily progress, photos, etc.
• Manage customer escalations / roadblock mitigation.
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations and policies.
• Performs other duties as necessary

Job Description

Field Supervisor that directs crews in the placement of cable / materials for underground and overhead telecommunications according to customer contract requirements. The Supervisor also ensures that all safety, quality, and production goals are met according to rules, regulations, and standards set by the company. The Construction Supervisor leads personnel supporting complex projects daily. The position is responsible for supervising personnel that handle the day-to-day operations and job completions. The Primary Job Responsibilities will be to drive daily production, keep leadership advised on the project's progress, meet deadlines, and to facilitate the daily interaction with the sub-contractors and clients.

1. Role: The position is for an OSP (Outside Plant) Construction Supervisor for the out-of-state market, covering Macon, Albany, Columbus, and Bainbridge areas.

2. Team Management: This supervisor will manage an internal team of 10-12 inspectors who oversee subcontractors placing fiber on job sites.

3. Experience Required: Looking for candidates with about 1-2 years of OSP construction supervision experience, specifically managing internal teams.

4. Background Flexibility: Telecom experience is not strictly required; candidates from a general construction background (e.g., new home builds, project superintendents) with "boots on the ground" supervisory experience are welcome.

5. Work Environment: The role involves working from home or a truck, visiting job sites, and requires comfort with working in hot conditions, as 95% of the job is outdoors.

6. Key Soft Skills: Essential traits include good people skills, the ability to connect with customers, a willingness to learn, humility, self-awareness, drive, and accountability.

7. Project Management Aspect: The role includes an aspect of project management, as supervisors are expected to plan, track progress, and provide status updates on jobs.
