Job summary

Insight Global is seeking Senior OSP/Facilities Field Engineers to support major telecom modernization projects across the United States, including airports and National Airspace System infrastructure. You will conduct field surveys, evaluate fiber and utility infrastructure, and document DMARC points and power system requirements.

The role involves coordinating with providers and contractors, developing installation plans, and creating as-built records.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in facilities engineering, telecom infrastructure, OSP construction, field engineering, or related environments
• Strong understanding of Outside Plant construction and fiber optic infrastructure
• Familiarity with DMARC and utility entrances into buildings
• Experience conducting field surveys and documenting installations
• Knowledge of UPS, DC power, rectifiers, and battery backup systems
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys at federal facilities, airports, communication sites, and remote infrastructure locations
• Evaluate existing telecommunications, fiber, and utility infrastructure
• Identify and document demarcation points (DMARC) and utility entry paths
• Assess power availability, DC power systems, UPS infrastructure, rack space, grounding, and environmental requirements
• Develop installation plans and engineering packages for field implementation teams
• Create detailed documentation, diagrams, sketches, and as-built records
• Review construction and installation requirements to ensure compliance with engineering standards
• Coordinate with telecommunications providers, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Support modernization of critical communications infrastructure

I'm currently supporting our client on a major telecommunications modernization initiative and we're hiring multiple Senior OSP / Facilities Field Engineers to support critical airport and National Airspace System infrastructure projects across the U.S.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced telecom, outside plant (OSP), fiber, facilities, or field engineering professionals who enjoy working in the field, conducting site surveys, overseeing installations, and supporting mission-critical communications infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing

Conduct site surveys at federal facilities, airports, communication sites, and remote infrastructure locations

Evaluate existing telecommunications, fiber, and utility infrastructure

Identify and document demarcation points (DMARC) and utility entry paths

Assess power availability, DC power systems, UPS infrastructure, rack space, grounding, and environmental requirements

Develop installation plans and engineering packages for field implementation teams

Create detailed documentation, diagrams, sketches, and as-built records

Review construction and installation requirements to ensure compliance with engineering standards

Coordinate with telecommunications providers, contractors, and project stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• Daily travel between sites
• Occasional overnight travel may be required depending on region
• Mileage reimbursed at GSA rates
• Per diem available when applicable

Clearance Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtainPublic Trust suitability, including:

• Verifiable employment and residence history

• Ability to pass a drug screening
