About the Role
TPC Southwind is a private club in Southeast Memphis, Tennessee. The Outside Operations Staff provide critical service to members and guests, being the first representative to meet and greet them upon arrival.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience working in customer service, preferably in a country club or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assist PGA TOUR players, members, and guests with their golfing needs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.
- Greet and welcome members and guests.
- Assist in pulling all golf cars from the golf car facility to the bag staging area at opening.
- Remove golf bags from members’ and guests’ cars, load them onto golf carts, and drive carts to the staging area when necessary.
- Provide members and guests with miscellaneous information that may help them on the course (e.g., yardage markers on sprinkler heads).
- Provide members and guests with cleaned, fully stocked golf cars, including towels, scorecards, pencils, and divot repair material.
- Drive dirty golf cars to the washing area, wash and wipe them down, and restock with clean supplies.
- At closing, drive golf cars into the facility, plug them into battery chargers, and ensure the Golf Car Facility remains clean and orderly.
- Perform periodic car maintenance and minor special repairs, and update service records.
- Serve the practice facility by driving the picker, collecting golf balls, setting up for play, replenishing balls, and picking up trash and practice ball bags.
- Rotate practice facility area according to the tee maintenance program.
- Collect, clean, and bag all range balls at the end of play, culling damaged balls to maintain quality.
- Assist members and guests as they depart, ensuring clubs are cleaned and that staff assists in placing clubs in vehicles.
- Work closely with the Golf Shop staff to enforce club rules, including dress code and beverage policy.
- Ensure that no member or guest carries clubs to/from the practice facility or in the parking lot or clubhouse areas.
- Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
Exposed to various outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active, requiring lifting, pulling, or pushing items up to or over 25 pounds, and moving awkwardly weighted items. Requires precise vision, including close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must comply with all applicable safety and health regulations.
Work Schedule
Shifts are required as necessary based on business levels. No supervisory responsibilities.
