Job Description

The Outside Machinist is responsible for assembly, installation, modification, and repair of surface ship machinery and systems. Tasks include setting up, servicing, repairing, aligning, and testing machines that operate on mechanical and electro-mechanical principles. Skilled use of precision measuring tools is required. The role involves performing major overhauls on compressors, disassembling and testing winches, capstans, windlasses, and generators, and performing alignments on gearboxes and engine shafts.
