Job summary

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities

• Install wireways supporting cables in submarines. Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones (including control, power, electronics, and weapon systems).
• Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting.
• Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connecterization.
• Groom electrical components for inspections and provide documentation for every job performed. Include Vulcanization of ship's cables and installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services.
• Learn power and data/signal cable splicing.

Qualifications

Required

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED, have 2+ years of related technical experience or be a current High School Senior.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience.
• Must be available for all shifts.
• Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board (EWIB) Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative training program if applicable.

Preferred

• Vocational, Technical Colleges, Apprentice programs, Military, Shipbuilding, and Manufacturing experience.
