Job summary

Illinois Association of School Boards seeks a Director of Outreach & Training to lead the development, administration, and delivery of governance training for IASB member school boards. The role focuses on outreach, engagement, and relationship-building with IASB members, and partnerships with other educational organizations.

The position involves in-office and in-district work, supervising administrative staff, and developing content for the Joint Annual Conference and other events across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; school board member, education and/or professional training or facilitation experience a plus.
• Strong communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel and work a schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with division leadership to implement bylaws and plan at least two division meetings or events annually.
• Design and deliver customized professional development sessions for governance teams.
• Engage with members to assess district needs and provide IASB guidance on governance best practices.
• Maintain communications with other member organizations and document meetings for feedback.
• Supervise and evaluate assigned administrative staff and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Develop and present content on governance at conferences, division meetings, and other opportunities.
