Job summary

Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care is seeking a detail-oriented professional to advance quality improvement initiatives across Arkansas. You will educate health care providers and consumers, coordinate multiple program activities, and ensure adherence to contractual reporting and timelines.

The role requires collaboration with clinical staff, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage data, travel as needed, and uphold HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years in clinic, hospital management, ambulatory care, clinical nursing home, long term care or other related setting.
  • Five (5) years’ work experience in related field may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of HIT/EHR and medical terminology is required.
  • The candidate must have reliable high-speed internet and willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to develop strategies to implement quality improvement objectives throughout Arkansas.
  • Educate external customers about the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process.
  • Plan, develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate program activities with respect to academic detailing episodes.
  • Communicate clinical data, AFMC project goals, performance indicators, and timelines to target audiences.
  • Serve as a resource and advisor to health care providers across Arkansas.
  • Maintain project-tracking data and document statistics for reporting.
  • Maintain log of academic detailing visits within five days of each visit.
  • Identify progress issues and propose solutions to support program development.
  • Ensure activities meet performance goals, target audiences, and deadlines.
  • Stay informed on contracts, deliverables, policies, and procedures.
  • Engage with internal and external clients and represent AFMC at events.
  • Follow guidelines for data confidentiality, HIPAA, and security.

Job description

Responsible for the communication, education and promotion of quality improvement projects and activities to health care providers and consumers for facilitation of improved outcomes in targeted patient populations. Implementation and evaluation of educational activities and tools for health care providers and consumers regarding quality improvement and designated clinical topics. Collaborate with medical and other professional staff to accomplish goals within designated timeframes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Collaborate with team members to develop strategies to implement quality improvement objectives throughout the state of Arkansas

2. Understand, demonstrate methods, apply, and educate external customers about the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process

3. Participate in the planning, development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of multiple program activities with respect to each academic detailing episode

4. Communicate clinical data, AFMC project goals, performance indicators, and designated timelines to appropriate target audiences

5. Serve as a resource and advisor to health care providers through the state of Arkansas

6. Understand and utilize project-tracking database to document, collect, and interpret data to meet contractual and other reporting requirements. Maintain accurate statistical data

7. Maintain log of all academic detailing visits, including date, time, location, name, topics covered, feedback received, and recommendations made from the visit. The log should be entered into the project tracking system or other electronic file storage within five (5) days of visit (unless directed otherwise)

8. Identify, present, and discuss progress and issues relating to focus areas and suggest solutions to assist in program development

9. Ensure all activities address designated performance goals, the appropriate target audience, and are performed within designated time frame

10. Maintain knowledge of specific projects including contract, contract deliverables, policies, and procedures, etc

11. Communicate effectively with internal and external clients. Represent AFMC at various external functions. Perform periodic outreach functions to program participants

12. Adhere to format, content, and style guidelines, giving consideration to usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality

13. Follow AFMC, state and federal protocols regarding data confidentiality/security and HIPAA compliance

14. Additional other duties as assigned

Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices:)

Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with personnel, ability to remain calm under stress and ability to travel as needed. Must be able to lift and transport 25 pounds. Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in health sciences field, business, or related field 1

Desirable: Master’s degree in health sciences field, business or related field, Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CP HQ)

EXPERIENCE:
