LOUISIANA SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking an Outreach Teacher to support children and families across Louisiana, implementing instructional philosophy and collaborating with the Louisiana School for the Deaf and the Visually Impaired.

The role requires statewide travel, administration of prescribed assessments, placement decisions, and development of lesson plans and materials that meet diverse needs; records and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Holds a current Louisiana teaching certificate.
• Holds a current teaching certificate from another state.
• Holds a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; and has documented enrollment in an approved alternative teacher prep program.

Responsabilités

• Implements instructional philosophy and curricula for outreach services.
• Maintains records of contacts, instructional strategies, and student records; ensures confidentiality.
• Applies knowledge of special education rules and regulations related to state and federal laws.
• Maintains positive relationships with students, families, and agencies.
• Demonstrates appropriate office and program supervision skills.
• May develop and implement a Professional Growth Plan in consultation with the supervisor.
