Role Overview

The Outreach Coordinator (OC) is responsible for designing outreach programs, building strategic relationships, and conducting activities within the African American community. The role includes supporting recruitment, retention of staff and clients, and facilitating outreach initiatives that connect the branch with the community. The OC will provide educational opportunities and assist women seeking financial services. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, enthusiastic, community-driven, positive, and a team player.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Develop outreach plans for their territory and communities.
  2. Attend community activities to identify new clients and create an intake pipeline.
  3. Collaborate with Relationship Associates to provide potential clients.
  4. Schedule and manage outreach presentations, communicate event details, responsibilities, and follow-up.
  5. Create consistent communication presentations.
  6. Ensure high-quality standards and productivity.

Client In-Take Management

  1. Facilitate smooth transition of potential clients into the business.
  2. Assist clients with questionnaires and applications, verifying information accurately.
  3. Respond promptly to client questions and resolve issues.
  4. Manage the client intake process from initial contact to membership approval.
  5. Support assessment of clients’ commitment, readiness, and ability to invest and repay loans.
  6. Support potential members through a peer network group model.
  7. Meet targets for client onboarding, engagement, retention, and portfolio quality.

Relationship Management

  1. Build positive relationships to support membership and business growth.
  2. Provide excellent customer service.
  3. Address concerns and questions professionally and promptly.
  4. Work with the team to enhance member engagement and experience.
  5. Achieve goals related to member engagement, retention, and peer recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in community outreach and program coordination.
  • BA/BS degree and 1-3 years of experience in community organizing, outreach, or client recruitment.
  • Experience working with native-born African American women.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, multi-task, work independently.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
