What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $26.21 and $32.76. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Saturday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).

Location & Schedule

In this position you can expect to work onsite at the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Building located at 201 W. Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80202 as well as offsite out in the local community.

Who We Are & What You’ll Do

Specifically, as the Outreach Case Coordinator III you will:

  • Conduct street outreach and engagement with individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
  • Complete housing assessments and develop individualized service plans.
  • Transport clients and their belongings to shelter, housing appointments, service providers, and move-in locations as needed.
  • Provide housing-focused case management and connect clients to supportive services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in HMIS and other systems and track client progress.
  • Participate in focused resolution efforts and support shelter/housing placements.
  • Submit referrals to community partners and outside agencies.
  • Distribute basic needs items and stabilization support (e.g., food, clothing, utilities).
  • Attend case conferencing, team meetings, and required trainings.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Experience in street outreach and housing navigation.
  • Strong rapport-building and trauma-informed engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of Coordinated Entry and local housing resources.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and support clients through housing processes.
  • Proficiency with HMIS and consistent documentation practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis intervention skills.
  • Comfort working independently in the field.
  • Familiarity with harm reduction strategies and trauma informed practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement:Minimum three (3) years of relevant outreach/case coordination experience, including intake, assessment, and referral with vulnerable or unsheltered populations
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
