Ward Home, Inc. is the premier provider of independent living service for displaced teenagers in southwestern PA. Founded in 1905 as a safe haven for children who had no place to call home, Ward Home has grown into a fully incorporated not‑for‑profit social service agency providing independent‑living skills to at‑risk teens and young adults. Job Description

The Outreach and Events Intern will work within the Development Department of Ward Home to support the department activities. This flexible unpaid internship will focus on outreach activities including research and identifying possible speaking engagements and media opportunities to increase public knowledge of Ward Home. The intern will assist in event planning details for four events held in March, May, June and October. Opportunities to participate in other fundraising activities include grant writing projects and donor stewardship. Other opportunities available to the intern include generating a portfolio of writing samples for Ward Home’s newsletter, email, social media and website communication tools, usage of DonorPro Ward Home’s database management program, developing marketing materials, and researching available enrichment programs.

A flexible Monday through Friday schedule is available, casual dress, and the opportunity to earn college credits. Ward Home provides a welcoming and comfortable workplace environment with free parking onsite.
