Job summary

Dow is seeking an Outplant Logistics Manager to optimize terminal operations and transportation modes, driving improvements in performance and reliability. You will contract administer for terminals, work with cross-functional teams, and lead initiatives to reduce costs while ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience, 5+ years in supply chain/manufacturing, and the ability to work in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above U.S. E5/Canadian rank, or 10 years experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing.
  • Must be able to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship offered.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as contract administrator for assigned outplant terminals.
  • Utilize logistics knowledge to improve process performance and reliability.
  • Lead or participate in improvement initiatives and crisis management.

About You And This Role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Outplant Logistics Manager! Preferably this position will be based at a Dow location in the Gulf Coast, however Midland, MI may be considered. In this role, you will use technical and operations logistics knowledge to improve process performance and reliability for outplant terminals and their associated transportation modes. You will work with key partners to optimize operations on a regular basis and assist business/functional clients by performing contract administration, leading/participating in improvement initiatives, and supporting crisis management.

Responsibilities
  • Perform the role of contract administrator for assigned outplant terminals.
  • Utilize logistics knowledge, technical expertise and operations experience to assist in correcting process or equipment issues which improve process performance and reliability.
  • Work with technical advising and logistics operations personnel to improve and optimize operations.
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting and coach others to learn these skills.
  • Ensure Most Effective Technology and specific operating discipline requirements are in place.
  • Support procurement tender negotiation and implementation with operational expertise.
  • Conduct terminal review meetings and drives continuous improvement efforts between terminals, business planners, logistics, safety, and quality.
  • Add value to logistics work processes by participating in process business/functional improvement efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize cost-to-serve through process improvements and lead logistics initiatives and projects in areas of expertise.
  • Contribute to the development of logistics plans consistent with business/functional responsibility. (For example, S&OP focal point).
  • Serve as the Dow and terminal focal point for mode QNs, investigations, corrective actions, and issue escalation and acts as RCI team Lead for P1 events.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking OR 10 years of relevant working experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
