Job summary

Palm Point Behavioral Health in Titusville, FL is seeking an Outpatient Therapist Intern under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient Services to deliver psychotherapeutic services to adults, children, and adolescents. You will conduct individual, group, and family sessions, perform psychosocial assessments, and help develop initial treatment plans within an outpatient setting.

The role supports crisis intervention and referrals, with the goal of helping patients achieve emotional health

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy or related behavioral health discipline required.
• Must be licensed: LCSW, LMFT, LMFTI, LMHC, or LMHCI
• Experience with structured environments or high acuity populations (behavioral health, crisis intervention, or group facilitation settings) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families for the purpose of treating such diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.
• Conduct individual, group or family sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan of the patient.
• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and provide assigned patient care within the general policies, philosophy, and objectives of the Intensive Outpatient Program.
• Provide initial treatment planning for patient based on assessment and coordinate any additional services needed, revising as necessary.
• Maintain documentation of therapy services provided to each patient according to facility and professional standards and revising as indicated by facility or professional standard.
• Conduct a psychosocial assessment and develop an initial discharge plan.
• Implements interventions appropriate to the developmental needs of the patient in accordance with the treatment plan demonstrating sound clinical and professional judgement.
• Accurately and thoroughly documents the progress, special treatments, goals, and any other documentation on patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Palm Point is looking for an Outpatient Therapist Intern who, under the direct supervision of the Director of Outpatient Services, performs Clinical functions to include assisting patients in meeting their goals while enabling them to access, through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, group therapy, providing information and referrals as needed, and individual therapy when ordered by an MD. Provides variety of psychotherapeutic services including, family and individual (adults and children) in an outpatient psychiatric Behavioral Health Center setting. Patient(s), with co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, substance abuse disorders and other behavioral disorders.
