Job summary

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking dedicated Program Therapists (LMSW/LCSW/LPC) to provide therapeutic services to patients at our 122-bed facility in southwest Houston.

This role offers growth within UHS and involves interviewing, assessing needs, counseling individuals and families, and coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team. Texas licensure is required; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or related mental health field.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; strong clinical assessment preferred.
• Program Therapist must possess licensure in Texas as a LCSW or LMSW.
• CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing patients and developing the psychological history
• Assessing the therapeutic needs of the patient and family
• Provide counseling sessions for families, individuals, and groups
• Developing appropriate treatment objectives
• Preparing monthly treatment summaries
• Act as the patients' and families' primary contact during the patient's stay at the facility
• Serve as patient advocate with the treatment team
• Liaise with outside agencies and individuals to develop and coordinate discharge planning with the treatment team and the patient’s family
