Job summary

CTS Health in Chicago, IL is seeking compassionate Outpatient Therapists to deliver community-based mental health services to diverse client groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with families and providers, while maintaining HIPAA and ethics compliance.

Qualifications

• Possession and maintenance of active IL licensure in one of: LCSW, Clinical Psychologist, or Psychiatry.
• LCSW: master's or doctoral in social work with at least 2 years supervised post-master's practice.
• Clinical Psychologist: doctoral degree and at least 2 years supervised experience in health services (1 year postdoctoral + 1 year in an organized health service program).
• Psychiatrist: medical degree and completed residency in psychiatry (accredited by ACGME or AOA).
• Behavioral Screening Certification is required.
• Complete all agency orientation and state-mandated training.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Complete Medicaid IM+CANS training and certification exam in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group therapy to clients with mental health, behavioral health, substance use, and life-transition concerns.
• Conduct clinical assessments, behavioral screenings, risk evaluations, and diagnostic reviews.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on client needs and clinical goals.
• Maintain a caseload of approximately 15–25 billable clinical hours per week.
• Use evidence-based interventions to help clients build coping skills and improve well-being.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, care coordination, and referrals.
• Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, community agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Complete timely assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
• Protect client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and regulatory standards.
• Participate in clinical staffing, education, workshops, or prevention activities.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with underserved populations, helping individuals navigate mental health challenges, life transitions, and recovery while promoting stability, independence, and overall well‑being.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group therapy to clients experiencing mental health, behavioral health, substance use, and life‑transition concerns.
• Conduct clinical assessments, behavioral screenings, risk evaluations, and diagnostic reviews.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on client needs and clinical goals.
• Maintain an agreed‑upon caseload of approximately 15–25 billable clinical hours per week, based on client demand and contractor availability.
• Use evidence‑based interventions to help clients build coping skills, improve insight, strengthen relationships, and achieve treatment goals.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as clinically appropriate.
• Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, care coordination, and referrals to community resources.
• Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, community agencies, and multidisciplinary treatment teams as authorized and appropriate.
• Complete timely and accurate assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and other required clinical documentation.
• Protect client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Illinois Medicaid, professional ethics, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Participate in clinical staffing, mental health education, workshops, or prevention activities as mutually agreed.

Qualifications

• Possession and maintenance of full Licensure Status of any ONE of the following licenses, active and in good standing in Illinois:
  • Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW)
    • A master's or doctoral degree in social work,
    • At least 2 years of supervised post‑master's clinical social work practice providing mental health services such as evaluation, treatment and prevention of mental and emotional disorders.
  • Clinical Psychologist
    • A doctoral degree and at least 2 years of supervised experience in health (1 year postdoctoral and 1 year in an organized health service program);
    • A graduate degree in psychology and at least 6 years of experience as a psychologist with at least 2 years of supervised experience in health services.
  • Psychiatrist
    • Medical degree, and
    • Successfully completed a residency program in psychiatry, accredited by either the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the American Osteopathic Association.
• Behavioral Screening Certification in possession
• Complete all required agency orientation and state‑mandated training.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
• Complete the required Illinois Medicaid IM+CANS training and certification exam.
