Job summary

Rehabilitation Services of Louisiana seeks a dedicated Outpatient Therapist to provide individual and family therapy primarily through secure telehealth from a local agency office. The role serves adolescents, adults, and families across Louisiana in a supportive clinical environment.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions while monitoring progress and coordinating referrals as needed. Telehealth education and privacy will be emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health discipline meeting Louisiana requirements.
  • Current Louisiana license or provisional license permitting the provision of assigned services within professional scope of practice (e.g., LPC, PLPC, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, PLMFT, or other approved credentials).
  • Eligibility to provide telehealth services to clients throughout Louisiana per applicable regulations.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, crisis identification, and referral practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with clinical leadership.
  • Experience providing outpatient individual and/or family therapy (preferred).
  • Experience delivering therapy via telehealth (preferred).
  • Experience with Louisiana Medicaid behavioral health or MHR services (preferred).
  • Previous CPST experience (preferred).
  • Training or experience in family systems, trauma-informed care, anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, parenting, or life transitions (preferred).
  • Experience working with adolescents, families, and/or substance-use or co-occurring disorders (preferred).
  • Experience developing and maintaining an outpatient caseload (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family psychotherapy to adolescents and/or adults experiencing behavioral health concerns.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions and monitor client progress.
  • Identify clients who may require higher level of care or specialized substance-use treatment and facilitate referrals.
  • Coordinate care with other providers when clinically appropriate and authorized by the client.
  • Offer CPST services to eligible clients in the MHR program as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation per agency, payer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide the majority of outpatient therapy services via secure telehealth from our agency office.
  • Educate clients on telehealth expectations, privacy, and participation, and assess ongoing appropriateness of telehealth.
  • Support growth of private-pay outpatient therapy program through client engagement and collaboration with staff.
  • Participate in community outreach and referral development.

  • Offer Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) services to eligible clients in the Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) program, as assigned and qualified.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, payer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide the majority of outpatient therapy services via secure telehealth from ouragency office, ensuring a professional and confidential environment.
  • Educate clients on telehealth expectations, privacy, and participation, and assess ongoing appropriateness of telehealth services.
  • Support the growth of the agency's private-pay outpatient therapy program through professional client engagement and collaboration with administrative staff.
  • Participate in community outreach and referral development as appropriate.
