Alternative Community Resource Program, Inc. seeks an Outpatient Therapist to provide individual, family, couples, and group therapy in our outpatient department in Pennsylvania.

Under the Outpatient Director, you will ensure therapy services meet DHS rules, industry standards, and agency expectations. Requirements include a Master's degree, valid PA LCSW or LPC license (preferred), and at least 1 year of mental health or human services experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Valid Pennsylvania LCSW or LPC license preferred.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in mental health or human services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage emails and phone messages daily.
  • Attend required meetings on time.
  • Provide individual, family, couples, and/or group therapy.
  • Be available to supervisors and staff for emergencies.
  • Attend Clinical Supervision and Treatment Team meetings.
  • Document services per policy and submit to Program Director.
  • Comply with licensing bodies and managed care rules.
  • Maintain timely progress notes and encounter forms.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Outpatient Director, the Outpatient Therapist performs Mental Health Therapy services for the Outpatient Department while adhering to the rules and regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, industry standards, and the expectations of ACRP.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Manage and respond to emails and phone messages daily in a timely manner.
  • Attend all required meetings on time.
  • Provide individual, family, couples, and/or group therapy to clients using appropriate methods and techniques.
  • Be accessible to ACRP Supervisors and Clinical staff for emergencies, phone messaging, and reporting.
  • Attend all required Clinical Supervision and Treatment Team meetings.
  • Document in accordance with ACRP Policy all services rendered and deliver the documentation to the Program Director during the weekly scheduled meeting time and date.
  • Cooperate with ACRP in resolving job‑related issues that may arise.
  • Take responsibility for compliance imposed by ACRP and managed care organizations, along with state and federal licensing bodies' rules and regulations.
  • Provide legible progress notes and encounter forms within the required time frame to meet all ACRP, Department of Human Services, managed care organizations, and other licensing bodies' standards, both in EMR and written formats.
  • Must meet the minimum weekly billable hour requirement based on location. The location billable hour requirement is determined by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Complete intakes and all paperwork accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Refer clients to Blended Case Managers or Peer Support services when appropriate.
  • Refer clients to a higher level of care, if needed.
  • Complete continued education as per licensing requirements and ACRP standards.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education / Experience
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or another related field.
  • Valid Pennsylvania LCSW or LPC license, preferred.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in mental health or human services, preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong working knowledge of public and private community resources.
  • Solid understanding of counseling, therapeutic, and human service intervention techniques.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills, patience, and skillfulness in working with clients, families, and other staff.
  • Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent the agency in the community.
  • Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and police activities, etc.
  • Detail‑oriented with good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
  • Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to comply with the state's mental health agency requirements.
Required Clearances and Documentation
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
  • Act 31/Act 126 Clearance Mandated Reporter Training
  • Act 34 Clearance Pennsylvania State Police Background Check (Criminal History)
  • Act 114 Clearance FBI Fingerprint
  • Act 33 Clearance Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
