Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Medical Assistant-Intermediate for the HOPD Surgery General outpatient department in San Antonio, TX. The role involves vital signs, injections, specimen collection, and assisting with documentation in the EMR.

Responsibilities include patient intake, history taking, coordinating appointments, and processing medication refills within clinic policies. EPIC experience is preferred to support efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of directly-related experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of EPIC software; may be required to be EPIC super user.

Responsibilities

• Intakes patients by obtaining vital signs and weight.
• Obtains history and chief complaint; documents in the EMR.
• Reports all pertinent findings to Physicians.
