The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Outpatient Surgery RN for the Pre/Post Department in Ambulatory Services, Jameson Crane Operating Rooms. The nurse will manage and coordinate patient care, guiding the care team to ensure safe, efficient perioperative processes.

Open to candidates with a 2-year nursing degree and Ohio licensure; a bachelor’s degree and prior surgical center experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-year nursing degree or equivalent with experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is desired.
• Current Ohio licensure or interim permit; surgical center experience preferred.

Scope of Position:

Position Summary:

The Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Education Required:

• 2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio licensure or interim permit. Previous surgical center experience preferred.

Additional Information:

The Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute is an outpatient surgery center focusing on sports med, orthopedics, and hand surgeries. The department has 6 operating rooms and 19 pre/post bays. We average between 18-25 cases daily, with hours of operation being 6am-4:30pm Monday thru Friday. JCSMI is closed on weekends and holidays. Our pre/post staff take care of 2 patients at a time, while our OR staff focuses on taking care of one patient at a time. All patients having surgery at JCSMI must fall within our scope of care to keep them as safe. There are approximately 45 staff members within the unit.
