Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Outpatient Surgery at Springfield Regional Medical Center. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality perioperative nursing care across pre, intra, and post‑operative stages, with collaboration from an interdisciplinary team to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited nursing degree, active RN licensure, and applicable certifications (BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS/ACLS or PALS preferred; obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS/PALS may be required within 6 months depending on department needs.
• CNOR certification preferred but not required.
• SGNA certification preferred but not required.
• Two years RN experience in Critical Care is preferred but not required.
• Completion of OR internship program is preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of Peri-op 101 is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and surgical team and assist to create a safe environment for the patient.
• Manage nursing care within the OR and coordinate with the surgical team and other care providers.
• Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including assessment and discharge instructions.
• Other duties as assigned.
