You will coordinate OR schedules, serve as a clinical resource, and collaborate with Post-Anesthesia Care, Biomed, Facilities Engineering, and Anesthesia to ensure patient safety and efficient case progression. Strong clinical judgment and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Two years of operating room experience.
  • Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in coordinating the O.R. schedule.
  • Consults in patient care situations requiring advanced competency.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for problem solving and assists staff with patient-related issues.
  • Collaborates with Post-Anesthesia Care, Biomed, Facilities Engineering, and Anesthesia to facilitate case progression and ensure quality nursing care.
  • Models best practices and develops staff competence in Perioperative Services policies.
  • Identifies non-compliance and references Policy and Procedure Manual for problem-solving.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Clinical Surgery Coordinator RN, you will utilize your knowledge from biological, physical, and social sciences to assist the Manager in ensuring the effective delivery of nursing care.

Every day you will apply this specialized knowledge to support the coordination of surgical services, optimize patient flow, and ensure adherence to best practices in the surgical environment. You will contribute to maintaining high standards of patient safety and care quality.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills to facilitate seamless surgical operations and support the nursing team efficiently.

  • Assists in coordinating the O.R. schedule
  • Consults in a variety of patient care situations requiring advanced competency and knowledge
  • Serves as a clinical resource for problem solving and Assists staff with patient-related issues and emergency situations
  • Collaborates with other departments and multiple patient care services such as Post-Anesthesia Care, Biomed, Facilities Engineering, and Anesthesia to facilitate case progression, and ensure special requirements and quality nursing care for the patient
  • Serves as a role model and Assists into developing staff competence in the delivery of nursing care based on national professional standards and Perioperative Services policies and procedures
  • Identifies non-compliance and demonstrates correct application of hospital policies and procedures. Refers to Policy and Procedure Manual as necessary for problem-solving
