Job summary

Bi-Bett Corporation in Concord, CA is hiring full-time, in-person AOD counselors to perform intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Spanish bilingual proficiency is required for one position and preferred for the other; you will collaborate with community resources, maintain documentation in the electronic health record, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and program policies.

Qualifications

  • Certified AOD Counselor preferred; candidates to obtain certification as AOD Counselor per state certifying agencies may be considered.
  • AMFTs and ASWs are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum two years’ experience facilitating outpatient groups – preferred.
  • Minimum two years’ experience providing counseling – preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive intake assessments and collaborative treatment planning according to ASAM guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and complete records within the electronic health record.

Job Details: Job Location: Susan J. Cinelli Center – Concord, CA 94520-2188 Salary Range: $24.00 – $35.00 Hourly Job Shift: Any Job Category: Health Care Bi-Bett Corporation, a California non‑profit engaged for the past 50 years in the treatment and recovery of adults with primary substance use and co‑occurring disorders alcohol or other drug problems. Originally based in Contra Costa, Bi‑Bet now operates residential and outpatient SUD programs, recovery residences and DUI Education in Alameda and Solano Counties.

Two openings are currently available. Spanish bilingual proficiency is required for one position and preferred for the other.

The Bi‑Bet Mission: To provide effective and affordable human services to individuals, families and communities with alcohol and drug related problems in belief that everyone has value and can grow through change if given one’s rightful opportunity to choose. Our goal is to create culturally appropriate alcohol and drug‑free environments in which one may experience personal and social growth.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive intake assessments and collaborative treatment planning/problem list according to ASAM guidelines.
  • Collaborate and coordinate care with community resources.
  • Follow Bi‑Bet Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain welcoming and culturally appropriate counseling and education.
  • Nurture relationships, collaborate and coordinate services with community partners.
  • Engage in group and individual supervision to discuss cases, consult in crisis situations, and treatment planning/problem list and execution.
  • Set appropriate limits to ensure safety for beneficiaries and staff.
  • Test for alcohol or drug intoxication when program requirements or clinical necessity dictates, either by observed urine testing or use of a breathalyzer.
  • Continuing Education is a requirement by law for your certification and agency contract requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Provide individual counseling, group counseling, and intensive SUD outpatient treatment services using evidence‑based practices.
  • Provide services in accordance with professional ethics, agency policies, county contracts, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Complete all required documentation within established agency timelines.
  • Maintain complete and accurate client records within the agency's electronic health record.
  • Develop discharge plans and coordinate continuing care to support long‑term recovery.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and support clients participating in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services when appropriate.
  • Respond to client, referral source, and professional communications within one business day.
Qualifications
  • Certified AOD Counselor preferred; candidates possessing a registration to obtain certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counselor issued by one of the certifying agencies approved by the State of California will be considered.
  • AMFTs and ASWs are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience facilitating outpatient groups – preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience providing counseling – preferred.
  • Ability to relate to and educate a wide variety of people and set limits with adults.
  • Ability to maintain required and appropriate records.
  • Experience treating co‑occurring disorders preferred.
  • Experience facilitating Intensive Outpatient (IOP) groups preferred.
  • Experience with Medi‑Cal /DMC‑ODS documentation preferred.
  • Experience using electronic health records preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
