Job summary

AdventHealth Sports Med & Rehab Celebration is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join the team in Celebration, FL. The role focuses on evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, licensure/credentials (SLP or SLP-T/PROV) and BLS.

Qualifications

Entry level competency of speech language pathology practice as defined by department policies.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved.
Educates patients and caregivers on strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills.
Documents accurately and timely following standards and guidelines.
Provides training and support to therapy aides and staff.
Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Job Description:

Location: AdventHealth Sports Med & Rehab Celebration (400 Celebration Place, Celebration FL, 34747)
Schedule: Weekdays. M/T/W/F 4x10‑hour shifts OR the possibility of 5x 8‑hour shifts.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved.
Educates patients and caregivers on strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills.
Documents accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
Provides training and support to therapy aides and other support staff.
Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
Practice principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence‑based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.
Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities.
Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs.
Participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships.
Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.
Charges patient accurately and timely according to guidelines of the CPT code format and following insurance guidelines.
Performs evaluations and re‑evaluations Assessing patients' speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations.
Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing best practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient’s needs.
Other duties as assigned.
