Job description

Outpatient Senior Occupational Therapist

Join to apply for the Outpatient Senior Occupational Therapist role at Dignity Health.

This position involves collaborating with physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and others to evaluate patients, develop care plans, provide treatments focusing on increasing range of motion, strength, and balance, recommend and customize adaptive equipment, perform re-evaluations, and document all activities. You will also support team members, motivate patients, and participate in departmental programs. A $3,000 referral bonus is available for eligible new hires.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients and recommend care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Provide therapy treatments to improve mobility, strength, and balance.
  • Recommend and customize adaptive equipment.
  • Conduct re-evaluation assessments and update treatment plans.
  • Document evaluations, treatments, and plan changes.
  • Support colleagues and seek help when needed; assist with tasks, mentoring, or obtaining certifications.
  • Maintain a positive attitude to motivate patients.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience, with extensive training in a specialty area such as neuro rehab, orthopedics, pediatrics, hand rehab, pain management, or work hardening.
  • Current California Occupational Therapy license.
  • AHA BLS certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with staff, physicians, and patients.
  • Leadership, teaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with department practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to participate actively in hospital programs and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Mentoring and coaching abilities, flexibility with caseload, and community service promotion.

Pay Range

$49.20 - $71.34 per hour
