Glade Run Lutheran Services in Beaver Falls, PA seeks an Outpatient/School Based Therapist to provide individual, family, and group therapy for children and adults from the Beaver Falls clinic, with possible hours in the school-based program. Responsibilities

Job description

Position Summary: The Outpatient/School Based Therapist will work with children and/or adults primarily out of our Beaver Falls Outpatient clinic with the possibility of additional hours in our school based program.

Outpatient Counseling
  • Individual, family, and group therapy for a variety of mental health issues such as marital or family issues, parent-child relationship problems, separation and loss, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
School Based Counseling
  • Completing client intakes (inclusive of psycho-social assessment, initial treatment plan and required legal consents).
  • Developing measurable treatment goals in collaboration with clients and families.
  • Completing treatment reviews in accordance with outpatient regulations.
  • Providing individual, group, and family therapy as is clinically indicated.
Academic Requirements
  • Has a graduate degree from an accredited college or university in a generally recognized clinical discipline that includes a clinical practicum.
  • Has an equivalent foreign degree evaluated by AICE or NACES and receives a general equivalency report.
  • Is licensed in a generally recognized clinical discipline that includes mental health clinical experience (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, preferred).
Physical Requirements
  • Must have audio/visual/verbal activity to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions.
Emotional Requirements
  • Must have emotional stability to perform essential job functions.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with agency personnel and community agencies.
  • Ability to accept supervision.
  • Ability to adjust hours to job requirements.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of the clients.
  • Ability to identify with the agency’s mission statement and support the agency’s core values.
  • Eligible for PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History clearance and FBI clearance.
Core Competencies
Outpatient
  • Provide individual, family, group and couples counseling to clients as defined in an individualized treatment plan; update schedule and documentation.
  • Complete clinical file documentation in a timely manner (initial paperwork within 72 hours, psychosocial within 2 weeks, payroll per agency schedule).
  • Consult with psychiatrist, other program areas or providers on a regular basis to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.
  • Attend supervisory sessions with clinical supervisor and psychiatrist; present/review case files as required.
  • Complete the agency's orientation and keep up to date with personnel and training requirements.
  • Meet identified productivity expectations.
School Based
  • Complete intakes (inclusive of psycho-social assessment, initial treatment plan and required legal consents) for assigned school-based clients in accordance with outpatient regulations.
  • Develop measurable treatment plan goals in collaboration with the assigned school-based client and legal guardian when indicated.
  • Complete treatment reviews in accordance with outpatient regulations.
  • Provide individual, group and family therapy as indicated in the treatment plan.
  • Complete clinical progress notes in a timely manner and include references to the treatment plan.
  • Consult with designated psychiatrist and school-based supervisor regularly to ensure effective collaboration and quality of service.
  • Participate in individual and group clinical supervision activities as scheduled.
  • Communicate and collaborate with designated school district personnel when indicated.
  • Attend in-service and professional development activities as scheduled.
  • Meet agency productivity requirements.
  • Enter clinical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a timely manner as per program guidelines.
