Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking a Central Scheduling Coordinator to support the TX/OK region for outpatient services. You will manage high-volume calls, register patients, and verify benefits while coordinating with ancillary departments and physician offices.

This full-time role may require after-hours and weekend work. Strong computer skills, coding knowledge, and effective communication are essential to succeed in this role within a bustling hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare experience in PAS, Scheduling & PFS, or physician office preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding.
• Certified Medical Coder or minimum one year physician coding strongly preferred.
• Verbal ability is required to communicate effectively with other staff members and hospital personnel.
• Computer/Typing skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office. Able to create spreadsheets in Excel.
• Willingness to be cross trained to other areas.
• Must demonstrate compliance with policies and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume calls to schedule services for the TX/OK Region.
• Register patients and verify benefits for ancillary services.
• Coordinate with ancillary departments, patients, and physician offices.
• Work Monday through Friday with potential after-hours and weekend assignments.
