Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an experienced Outpatient RN to deliver specialized nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy.

You will perform patient assessment, manage symptoms, provide treatment education, coordinate care, triage, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary oncology team to support high-quality, patient-centered cancer care throughout the treatment continuum.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited program.
  • Current Ohio nursing license or interim permit.
  • Experience in relevant care setting preferred.

Scope of Position

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute’s (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in their own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, the outpatient RN plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.

Position Summary

The outpatient RN is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The outpatient RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit.

  • Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
