Job summary

Cardinal Health operates the outpatient retail pharmacy at Orange City Area Health System, a 340B retail pharmacy serving outpatients of a critical access hospital. The site handles 120–150 prescriptions per day and offers medications to a local LTC facility, with hours Monday–Thursday 8 am–6:30 pm and Friday 8 am–5 pm.

The role includes supervising technicians, ensuring safe dispensing, and providing professional consultation to patients and prescribers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD, required or preferred.
• Iowa pharmacist license is required.
• Immunization certification or eligibility within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and ensure safe delivery of medications to customers.
• Maintain communication with customers and practitioner sites for consultation.
• Supervise technical staff as part of the team.
• Ensure 340B contract pharmacy compliance and best practices.
• Provide professional consultation to patients and prescribers.
• Direct technicians' workflows and verify orders, charges, and labeling.
