Job Summary

The rehab tech supports therapy services by preparing and cleaning treatment areas, assisting patients, and serving as an office coordinator when needed. They work under licensed therapists to aid in patient care, including patient preparation, intervention components, and post-treatment procedures. The role involves departmental organization, clerical duties, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Essential Functions

• Assist with therapeutic interventions (exercise, gait training, ADLs) as directed by therapists
• Set up equipment for evaluations and therapies
• Help transfer and transport patients
• Take vital signs when needed
• Support therapists during therapy sessions
• Monitor supply levels and maintain cleanliness of equipment and areas
• Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and data entry
• Report patient status changes to supervising therapists
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of treatment areas

Shift Requirements

Varies by setting; may include evenings and weekends.

Other Responsibilities

• Order repairs for equipment
• Ensure compliance with policies, HIPAA, and standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Previous clerical experience (preferred)
• Experience as a Physical Therapy Tech (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA (required)
