Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Rehabilitation Aide to support Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology teams in Newport. You will transport patients, prepare treatment areas, and assist clinicians under supervision to relieve pain and maximize function.

The role also involves maintaining equipment and inventory, coordinating with the healthcare team, and assisting with scheduling and EHR tasks. Strong communication and computer skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED is required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• One year of related experience in fitness training or direct patient care (e.g., Rehabilitation Aide or CNA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists therapists and assistants in patient care as requested.
• Carries out patient interventions per therapist or assistant direction, including positioning, mobilizing, and exercising patients.
• Maintains gym and treatment areas to Environment of Care (EOC) standards.
• Transports patients to and from treatment areas, exercising care in handling.
• Assists with scheduling, order entry, charge reconciliation, and scanning into the Electronic Health Record.
• Communicates with patients, providers, and care team members.
• Performs environmental and infection control activities and ensures equipment cleanliness.
