Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Rehabilitation and Mobility Technician to work in outpatient acute care, collaborating with licensed nursing staff and rehabilitation professionals to promote patient mobility and recovery.

Under supervision, you will assist with mobility activities, prepare equipment, and ensure safety. The role emphasizes teamwork, ongoing professional development, and adherence to clinical care plans.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Licensure: American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with mobility activities and therapeutic exercises as directed by licensed clinicians.
• Support rehabilitation sessions and patient care procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring a safe environment.
• Manage and maintain rehabilitation and mobility equipment, ensuring availability and cleanliness.
• Promote the importance of early and ongoing mobility to patients and families in alignment with clinical care plans.
• Provide hands-on assistance during therapy sessions and mobility activities, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
• Actively participate in professional growth activities and maintains necessary skills and competencies.
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
