The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a radiologic technologist to perform diagnostic radiologic exams with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. The role requires graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program and ARRT certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities include maintaining image quality, adhering to protocols, and supporting staff training. On-site hospital setting in Charleston, SC with opportunities for professional growth and a strong safety

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Zero to two years of modality specific work experience.
• ARRT registration within 6 months of hire.
• Licensure from the SC Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• ACLS is preferred.

• Maintains a safe, clean, compliant environment per sterile technique and universal precautions.
• Complies with radiation safety, quality, and organizational standards.
• Supports onboarding and training of staff and students.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and quality meetings.

Educación

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology

ARRT registration within 6 months of hire

SC Radiation Quality Standards Association licensure

Job Description

• Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology, a high degree of technical competency, and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with a minimum of supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Other duties as deemed necessary.
• Performs diagnostic radiologic examinations in accordance with established protocols while maintaining image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow. Completes patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in RIS and PACS to support timely physician interpretation
• Maintains image quality, productivity, and efficient patient workflow.
• Adheres to departmental standards and modality-specific protocols.
• Provides safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and compliant environment by adhering to sterile technique (as applicable), and following universal precautions.
• Maintains compliance with radiation safety, quality, and organizational standards.
• Utilizes Shield reporting platform for events that occur outside the norm.
• Supports onboarding and training of staff and students.
• Facilitates a positive work and learning environment.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, and safety.
• Participates in staff meetings, lunch and learns, and quality meetings.
• Maintains a professional demeanor in attitude, appearance, and communication.

Additional Job Description

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Experience: Zero to two years of modality specific work experience.
• Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire.
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
