Job summary

Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in rural Minnesota is seeking a pulmonologist to oversee respiratory health. You will diagnose and treat lung conditions, allergies, and related diseases with flexible hours, a 4‑day work week, and no on‑call weekends.

We feature an AASM accredited sleep lab and provide opportunities for sleep studies. Candidates must have MD/DO, board certification in Pulmonary Medicine, Minnesota license, and 3–7 years of internship and residency; strong empathy and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, physical sciences, or related field.
  • MD or DO with residency in pulmonology.
  • 3–7 years' internship and clinical residency training in pulmonology.
  • Board Certification by The American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Medicine.
  • Valid and active medical license in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting with patients to understand symptoms and health concerns.
  • Diagnosing and treating conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema.
  • Using and interpreting pulmonological exams and tests to aid in diagnosis, including CT scans and bronchoscopies.
  • Maintaining detailed notes of appointments, tests, and treatments.
  • Referring patients to cardiothoracic surgeons when necessary.
  • Advising cardiothoracic surgeons of risk status and recommending interventions to minimize risk.
  • Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.

Job description

4 day work week, no call or weekends, Flexible working hours at a Rural Minnesota, Lake Country, Critical Access Hospital

AASM Accredited sleep lab, sleep opportunity available but not necessary

We are looking for a pulmonologist to be responsible for the respiratory health of our patients. This will include treating breathing disorders, severe allergies, and other lung conditions and diseases. You should be able to effectively diagnose patients and suggest a successful course of treatment.

To be successful as a pulmonologist you must show empathy and compassion towards your patients and be knowledgeable in specialist procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Consulting with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.

  • Using and interpreting pulmonological exams and tests to aid in the diagnosis of cardiopulmonary diseases and conditions, including CT scans and bronchoscopies.
  • Maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
  • Referring patients to cardiothoracic surgeons, when necessary.
  • Advising cardiothoracic surgeons of the risk status of patients and recommending interventions to minimize risk.
  • Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO).
  • 3 to 7 years' internship and clinical residency training, specializing in pulmonology.
  • Board Certification by The American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Medicine.
  • Valid and active medical license in Minnesota.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator who can empathize with patients.
