Dynamic outpatient position at New Mexico’s only Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital. The successful applicant will provide services at our main outpatient rehabilitation department with an orthopaedic and primary care focus. As a member of the UNMH outpatient team, you will be part of a rehab department composed of highly trained and specialty certified OTs and PTs.

You will also work with PTAs to optimally meet the needs of our clients. Educational opportunities abound.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
• 1 year related experience desired; bilingual proficiency required in English and Spanish or other local languages.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate patient to determine treatment goals and plan therapy; use therapies such as exercises, manual therapy, and modalities.
• Apply evaluation methods for functional ability.
• Consult with medical staff on patient care.
• Educate patients on use of equipment, posture control, and therapeutic procedures.
• Instruct caregivers and patients on home and personal safety in various environments.
• Adapt therapy techniques to meet patient needs.
• Conduct training for staff and supervise PT students and volunteers as delegated.
