Job summary

Oneida Health’s Outpatient Therapy department seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. You will assist with patient care, prep treatment areas, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate documentation and billing.

On-the-job training will be provided to perform physical therapy-related duties under guidance. Responsibilities include assisting with patient exercises, supporting movement changes, maintaining inventory, and ensuring patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• CNA preferred or relevant certification is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for treatment and accompany them to treatment areas as needed.
• Set up and maintain physical therapy treatment areas and equipment.
• Assist patients with exercise movements and changes in positions during treatment sessions.
• Record charges for each patient’s billing and enter data accurately.
• Communicate with staff regarding patient care and scheduling.
• Maintain treatment records and ensure Medicare guidelines are followed.
