Job summary

MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC is seeking a full-time Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. The role offers comprehensive outpatient care within a collaborative academic health system and opportunities to contribute to teaching and learner education.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Washington, DC.
• Open to experienced Psychiatrists and new graduates.
• Strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care for adult outpatient patients.
• Diagnose and treat a broad range of mental health conditions.
• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, case managers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinate referrals and continuity of care as needed.
• Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and other trainees.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental initiatives.
