An established industry player in mental health treatment seeks a dedicated Outpatient Program Therapist. This role is crucial in helping clients achieve emotional health through various therapeutic methods, including crisis intervention and family therapy. The therapist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate care to children and adolescents facing behavioral challenges. The Outpatient Program Therapist performs social service functions to include assisting clients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical social services for consumers/families receiving care. The clinical social services provided includes: crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, group therapy and discharge planning. The Outpatient Program Therapist serves as an integral member of the treatment team and is also responsible for case management of consumer’s internal/external support systems. This specific position will provide services off-site at local elementary and middle schools.
Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center is a 97-bed facility located in Springfield, Illinois. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We are the only facility of our kind in Central Illinois! We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: A Masters Degree in a related mental health field is required. A minimum of two (2) years experience in behavioral health with experience in individual, family, and group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment skills is preferred; must have strong clinical assessment skills, with a majority experience focused on the child/adolescent population is preferred. DHS/DCFS background/knowledge is preferred. Experience working with children and adolescents and their families. Background in trauma, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and play therapy a plus. Spanish speaking is beneficial for this position. Valid Illinois driver’s license is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LCSW, LSW, LPC, LCPC or LMFT is required within two (2) years of employment. Employee may pursue designation of Clinical Psychologist instead of above licensures. Primary Source Verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulations.
