Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers in Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide therapy services under supervision in the adult outpatient setting. You will implement treatment plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality discharge and documentation.

Requirements include an Associate's Degree in PTA, a current SC license, BLS, and strong communication and clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited PTA program (Associate's Degree).
• Current SC license and BLS.
• 1 year experience in acute care is preferred but not required.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Clinical competence.
• Must pass any pre-employment assessments by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plan in accordance with methods, techniques, modalities, procedures, and supervisory guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education in preparation for discharge.
• Actively participates in committees and task forces as appropriate.
• Meets documentation standards with patient charts.
• Charge accurately and appropriately for services rendered.
• Perform chart reviews to prepare for patient care.
• Maintain professional communication with interdisciplinary team members.
• Ensure timely and cost effective delivery of services.
• Assist other departments during staffing shortages.
