Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support physical therapy interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist. You will assist patients with impairments and functional changes related to injury or illness, contributing to plan implementation and patient progress.

The role requires graduation from an APTA-accredited PTA program, a current PTA license, and BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days). A valid driver's license is needed for Home Care assignments.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• License/Certifications: Current applicable state PTA license; BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days. Home Care positions require a valid driver’s license.
• Experience: One year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in provision of physical therapy interventions under supervision.
• Support patient/client mobility, functional activities, and treatment plans.
• Document interventions and progress as directed by the Physical Therapist.
