Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis- Therapy and Rehab is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include supervising rehab technicians and PT assistants, with licensure requirements in the state of practice.

Education must include a Bachelor's, MS in PT or DPT, and current BLS certification. Preference given to 6–12 months' experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, MS in Physical Therapy, or DPT required.
• Current/Temporary PT license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required to be current before patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of rehabilitation technicians and supervision of PT assistants.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

Shift: Per diem - Days and evenings

Education: Bachelor's, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, or Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in the state of practice.

Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before being assigned to care for patients independently.

Preferred Experience: Six months to one year of experience is preferred for a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
