Mercy Hospital is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and craft individualized treatment plans for adults and geriatric patients. Required are a PT licensure in the practice state and current BLS certification. Six months to one year of rehab PT experience is preferred, especially with older adults in a hospital

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Mercy Hospital St. Louis- Therapy and Rehab Shift: Per diem - Days and evenings Education: Bachelor's, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, or Doctor of Physical Therapy. Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in the state of practice. Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before being assigned to care for patients independently. Preferred Experience: Six months to one year of experience is preferred for a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
