Physical Therapist Assistant - OP Elk Rapids/Up to $3,000 Bonus

Primary Location: SITE - Munson Medical Center - Elk Rapids

Department Name: Munson Medical Center - Elk Rapids

Employment Type: Full time

Shift: Days (United States of America)

Weekly Scheduled Hours: 30

Hours of Work: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Days Worked: Monday - Friday

Compensation: Hourly Rate starting at $25.40 (eligible for increase based on experience)

Age Specific Responsibility: Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.

Summary: Provides physical therapy services as assigned by, and under the supervision of, a physical therapist. Keeps treatment skills updated through continuing education, evidence-based research, and program development.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by law and regulation.
  • Assists the physical therapist in treatment planning and conducting evaluation procedures.
  • Assists the physical therapist in treating patients utilizing modalities, therapeutic exercise, assistive devices, and functional activities.
  • Provides verbal and/or written feedback to the physical therapist regarding all significant observations or changes in the patient's condition, reaction, and response to treatment.
  • Documents patient’s status and progress according to established internal/external time standards and adherence to reimbursement guidelines.
  • Communicates with others to integrate physical therapy treatment with all aspects of patient care.
  • Participates in various meetings and in-services as designated.
  • Follows all hospital policy and procedures including but not limited to patient confidentiality and infection control.
  • Meets or exceeds program productivity expectations.
  • Functions as patient advocate.

Essential Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
  • Licensure with the State of Michigan.
  • Possesses and maintains BLS certification to meet department/program protocol.
