Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure required as deemed necessary for your specific location(s).
• American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges for patient care activities under supervision of licensed PT, communicating with the PT.
• Manages an accurate schedule and productivity expectations; facilitates patient access and re-evaluations/discharge summaries.
• Completes discharge planning and follow-up care in collaboration with the supervising PT and family involvement as appropriate.
• Provides patient treatment services, reviews history, administers modalities, and documents progress under supervision.
• Pursues ongoing continuing education and may serve as a clinical instructor to students.
