Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join the MHPT @ Brandywine MACC team. You will provide PT services including evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation across diverse settings.

The ideal candidate has a PT degree from an accredited program, MD/DC/VA licensure as required for location, and BLS CPR certification; strong communication with patients and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current physical therapy license in MD, DC, or VA as required by location.
• BLS CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation services and document results; explain findings to patient and family.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation and patient presentation; modify plan as needed.
• Complete discharge planning and timely documentation of patient care activities.
• Maintain scheduling productivity and ensure accessible care with empathy.
• Pursue continuing education and serve as a clinical mentor to staff and students.

About the Job

MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at MHPT @ Brandywine MACC. The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy; demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches; customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds; and effective communication.

The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to patients, including but not limited to screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment re-assessment and revision, patient/client re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The Physical Therapist participates as requested in program planning and protocol development and assists the team in meeting established goals.

Primary Duties

• Provide evaluation services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explain evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family and incorporate them in goal setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency in implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health-care environment. Consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated. Recognize and document changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation.
• Complete appropriate discharge planning and follow-up care. Accurately and timely document and charge for patient care activities considering our evolving health-care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focused initial evaluation/plan of care that establishes baseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.
• Demonstrate effective time management and meet productivity expectations. Manage an accurate schedule. Provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient-consumer driven environment.
• Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serve as a clinical instructor to assign students. Assist with orientation and mentoring of inexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia license required as deemed necessary for your specific location(s).
• American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR certification.

Hiring Range: USD $74,214.00 – USD $134,596.00 per year.
